Start your day with a smoothie that will satisfy your taste buds and kick your immune system into high gear!

What makes this smoothie an immunity must-have? It’s all in the fresh produce, specifically apples and celery! The skin of an apple actually contains a pigmented phytochemical called quercetin, which is best known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities, so it’s important to leave the skins on the apples when making this recipe!

As for the celery, this crunchy green veggie contains plant compounds with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antioxidant properties, which perfectly compliments all the goodness of the apples.

Apple Celery Smoothie Ingredients

These two key ingredients could surely be turned into a delicious juice, but who has time to stand at the juicer every morning?

I knew there had to be a faster way to reap the nutritional benefits of this fresh produce, so I opted for a thick and creamy smoothie with fresh ginger, nut milk and dairy-free yogurt.

It’s safe to say that this plant-based smoothie will have you sipping your way to better immune health!

Heinen's Grocery Store

By Heinen's Grocery Store

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
