Effortlessly elevate the classic pasta and red sauce pairing with this Asparagus and Gruyere Ravioli with Tomato Butter Sauce.

This recipe may sound like it came from a restaurant menu, but don’t be intimidated! It comes together quickly with Heinen’s refrigerated asparagus and gruyere ravioli and a simple sauce made from ingredients you likely already have at home.

Heinen’s offers a vast selection of premium pastas under their brand at an incredible price. From Italian-imported artisan organic dried pastas in the grocery aisle, to fresh, refrigerated potato gnocchi in the deli, there’s an endless assortment of options for a pasta lover to explore. Sitting alongside the gnocchi in the deli is Heinen’s line of refrigerated ravioli. Featuring traditional fillings like four cheese and chicken & mozzarella, and unique ingredient combinations like exotic mushroom, burrata lemon & herb and goat cheese & basil, these raviolis cook in 4-5 minutes and offer pillowy-soft texture and high-end flavor for nearly half the price of what you’d pay at a restaurant.

Paired with a fresh vegetable, like simple sauteed asparagus, this dish is pasta night done right!

Ingredients

For the Ravioli

  • 1 package Heinen’s asparagus and gruyere ravioli
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 container Heinen’s shaved parmesan cheese
  • Graza drizzling oil, for serving

For the Tomato Butter Sace

  • 1 stick Heinen’s butter
  • 1/2 tsp. Heinen’s balsamic vinegar of Modena
  • 1 tsp. Heinen’s honey
  • 2 Tbsp. Heinen’s tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. Heinen’s crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Heinen’s walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil the ravioli according to the package instructions. Drain and transfer back to the pot to keep warm.
  2. Add the butter and tomato paste to a saucepan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, gently whisk until it is fully combined with the tomato paste. This may take a minute or two.
  3. Add the honey and balsamic vinegar along with the crushed pepper flakes and walnuts.
  4. Once incorporated, add the basil and stir once more. Set aside.
  5. Transfer the cooked ravioli to a serving platter and drizzle the oil over top.
  6. Stir the tomato butter sauce again then drizzle a generous amount all over the ravioli.
  7. Finish with more chopped basil and a sprinkle of shaved parmesan. Serve with your vegetable of choice. Simple sauteed asparagus is a great option!
