Mt. Vikos Feta Cheese,
and Heinen’s Jumbo Pitted Kalamata Olives

Topped with roasted red peppers, olives, and feta cheese, this dish is basically an elevated Greek-style pasta salad that’s savory, briny and colorful. Heinen’s shrimp is cooked fresh in-store daily and adds a finishing touch of sweetness, crunch and the always important protein!

What’s For Dinner? Greek Orzo and Shrimp

Ingredients

  • Barilla Orzo Pasta
  • Heinen’s Fresh Cooked Shrimp
  • Heinen’s Roasted Red Peppers
  • Mt. Vikos Feta Cheese
  • Heinen’s Jumbo Pitted Kalamata Olives

Instructions

  1. Place a pot of water over high heat and bring to a boil. Cook the orzo, strain, and set aside.
  2. Place a large sauté pan over high heat. When hot, add some olive oil, the shrimp, drained roasted red peppers, and kalamata olives. Sauté for a minute.
  3. Add the orzo and feta cheese and sauté until hot. Finish with a little more olive oil before serving.
  4. Serve with lemon wedges and chopped parsley.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
