Beautiful to look at and tasty to eat, there is nothing better to serve to friends or family at the holidays than a juicy and flavorful pork crown roast.
With 14 – 15 bones, a pork crown roast is perfect to serve to if you have a larger family, and it’s not terribly expensive either, making it a great option for the center of your holiday table.
As the holiday season continues, you’ll definitely find them in Heinen’s Meat Department, but they can always place a special order if you need one in advance.
Now it’s time to roast this main course!
How to Prep a Pork Crown Roast:
- Start by covering the bones on the top with foil. This will prevent them from burning while the meat roasts.
- Once the bones are covered, add oil all over the inside and outside of the meat and season well with salt and pepper.
- Once the basic prep is done, its time to add a little extra creative flare, if you wish, with spice rubs or herbs and garlic.
- Once the meat has been prepped and seasoned to your taste, transfer the roast to large rondeau pot. If you don’t have this type of pot, do not worry! You can leave it on a sheet tray or place it in a roasting pan.
How to Cook a Pork Crown Roast:
- Place the roast into a 350˚F oven for 90 minutes to 2 hours.
- Once the meat is cooked, remove it from the oven and take the foil off of the bones.
- Once the foil is removed, add your favorite stuffing to the center of the crown roast.
- Stuffing adds flavor and an enhanced visual aesthetic to the roast. As a bonus, it also adds more food to the completed dish.
- Once to roast is stuffed, place it back into the oven for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 150˚F.
- When the meat and stuffing are fully cooked, remove the roast from the oven, top it with any pan sauce, add it to a serving board or plate and prepare to wow your guests with the most flavorful and juicy pork crown roast they’ll ever have!

This was a great crown roast. Very easy instructions to follow. Made it yesterday for Christmas. Did not expect it to be so delicious, moist and tender. The seasoning was what you make it, or any type of rub, you put on it. I have made a crown roast in the past. Did not compare to this one. Thank you for such an easy recipe to follow.
