Juicy Lucy Burger
Recipe, video and photography provided by Heinen’s partner, Chef Billy Parisi.
If you like your burgers cheesy, this recipe is for you!
Fresh slices of cheese are a must-have when making burgers. While the beloved cheeseburger features a blanket of melted American or cheddar cheese overtop of a perfectly charred patty, the Juicy Lucy Burger is cheesy from the inside out!
Created in the Midwest in the ‘50s, the Juicy Lucy Burger features two seasoned, hand-formed patties that are melded together with cheese in the center. Made with Heinen’s CARE Certified ground beef, a few everyday spices and fresh slices of cheese, they’re just as easy to cook as an average burger, but the flavor is next level.
Finished with a top layer of cheese, just like a classic cheeseburger, and layered on Heinen’s premium brioche buns with traditional burger fixings and an unexpected, but delicious, drizzle of thousand island dressing, this burger proves that you can never have too much cheese!

Instructions
- Preheat the grill between 400°F-450°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the beef, butter, garlic granules, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
- Form the mixture into 4 even-sized balls and place them on a platter or sheet tray.

- Take two slices of cheddar cheese and fold them in half, then fold them in half again.
- Place the folded cheddar slices in the center of two smashed burger patties.
