Kitchen Tip: Buttercream Frosting 3 Ways

Kitchen Tip: Buttercream Frosting 3 Ways
Servings: 12 Cupcakes or 1 Cake Per Recipe
Ingredients
For the Vanilla Buttercream
- 1 cup Heinen’s unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups Heinen’s powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ cup Heinen’s heavy whipping cream
For the For the Chocolate Buttercream
- 1 cup Heinen’s unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups Heinen’s powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ cup Heinen’s heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup cocoa powder, sifted
For the For the Peanut Butter Buttercream
- 1 cup Heinen’s unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups Heinen’s powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ cup Heinen’s heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup Heinen’s fresh ground peanut butter
Instructions
- In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, whip the butter on high speed for 5-7 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
- Stop the mixer and add the powdered sugar. Mix on low speed for 1 minute, then turn to high speed and mix for 3-4 minutes.
- Stop the mixer again and add the vanilla, salt and heavy whipping cream. Mix on low speed until the ingredients are fully combined, 2-3 minutes. Store in the refrigerator or use immediately.
- Divide the vanilla butter cream into three equal portions. Use one third of vanilla buttercream as is.
- To make chocolate buttercream frosting, add one portion of the vanilla buttercream frosting back into the stand mixer and add the cocoa powder. Mix until fully combined. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.
- To make peanut butter buttercream frosting, add the remining third of vanilla buttercream frosting back into the stand mixer and add the fresh ground peanut butter. Mix until fully combined. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.
