Love a classic Reuben sandwich? Allow me to introduce you to the Turkey Rachel!

What the difference, you ask? While a Reuben calls for corned beef and sauerkraut, it’s cousin, the Rachel, swaps these two ingredients for turkey and coleslaw. They are cousins; however, so the classic sandwich staples like rye bread, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing remain the same.

The great thing about making a Turkey Rachel at home is that it can be made using virtually all Heinen’s brand ingredients, which on average, save 25% compared to national brands. From the bread in the Bakery, to the coleslaw in the Prepared Foods Department, to the premium turkey in the deli, this is not your ordinary turkey sandwich, it’s simply extraordinary.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It features Two Brothers sous vide turkey off the bone. A fan favorite amongst Heinen’s customers, and Tom Heinen, Two Brothers turkey off the bone is sous vide at Heinen’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Warrensville Heights, OH. The sous vide process involves submerging the turkey in a temperature-controlled water bath, so it slowly cooks to perfection every time. The result is juiciest, most flavorful deli turkey you’ve ever tasted, which is why they’re included as one of the few chosen products in Heinen’s Fan Favorites collection. You can get it sliced to order from Heinen’s deli counter or pre-cut and packaged in Heinen’s Deli-to-Go section.
  • Almost all of the ingredients are from Heinen’s brand. The Two Brothers sous vide turkey off the bone is a beloved Heinen’s product for its quality, and the rest of the ingredients are just as good. In addition to saving you an average of 25% compared to national brands, the Heinen’s brand products on this sandwich, like Swiss cheeses, coleslaw and rye bread are equally delicious and high quality.
  • Heinen’s brand products can be served on the side too. Part of what makes a classic deli sandwich great are the sides. If you’re looking to keep the sides in the family, grab a jar of Heinen’s kosher dill pickle spears and a bag of their Fan Favorite kettle cooked potato chips for a salty and crunchy counterpart that is sure to satisfy.
