What’s For Dinner? Classic Linguine and Clams

Ingredients

  • Buitoni Linguine
  • Snow’s Chopped Clams
  • Bota Box Mini Sauvignon Blanc
  • Heinen’s Unsalted Butter
  • Chopped Italian Herbs
  • Heinen’s Parmigiano Reggiano

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package.
  2. Place a pan over medium heat. Add some oil to the pan and briefly sauté a little bit of garlic.
  3. Add a splash of white wine and cook until the wine is evaporated.
  4. Add the clams and their juice, some of the butter and a splash of pasta water. Cook, gently shaking the pan back and forth until the sauce becomes thick and creamy.
  5. Add the pasta, some cheese, and herbs.
  6. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce.
  7. Serve with more cheese on top and freshly ground black pepper.
  8. Add a fresh green salad to make a complete meal.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
