Baking angel food cake from scratch is a labor of love. This dessert is meant to be easy, so grab a fresh-baked angel food cake from Heinen’s Bakery to create an effortless fluffy base for this trifle.

Beautiful to the eye and delicious to the tastebuds, this Whipped Yogurt Berry Trifle would make a light and refreshing finale to a spring brunch or warm summer cookout!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It uses shortcut ingredients. Heinen’s angel food cake from the Bakery is the starring time-saver in this recipe, but if you’re looking to make the prep even easier, grab a container or two of Heinen’s Fan Favorite fresh-cut berries to save time slicing and dicing! The fruit is cut fresh in store at peak ripeness by Heinen’s Associates, so it’s ready to enjoy when you get home.
  • If refreshing but full of protein. This dessert is inherently light, but the protein-rich Greek yogurt adds body, which will leave you feeling full and satisfied, but not stuffed. As a bonus, the mild tang of the yogurt complements the refreshing sweetness of the berries beautifully.
  • It’s impressive and almost effortless. This dessert is so simple to make, but the appearance and flavors are simply magnificent! To make the eating experience sweeter, serve each scoop alongside a glass of chilled rosé from Heinen’s Wine Department.
