Galentine’s Day Sips and Snacks

Galentine's day raspberry cocktail

The following recipe and photography for this post were provided by local blogger Abby Thome of The Thome Home.

Whether you have a significant other or not, it’s always important to show your best girls some love on Valentine’s Day! That’s why I’ll be celebrating “Galentine’s Day” this year, because who doesn’t love a night in with lifelong friends gabbing about life and munching on delicious treats?

For my girly gathering, I decided to make things easy on myself by serving sips and snacks featuring all of the best parts of Valentine’s Day: rosé, chocolate and cheese! Whip this easy and elegant spread up for your friends and you’ll have their taste buds falling in love.

Raspberry Chocolate Dessert Pizza with Brie Stuffed Crust

  • Homemade or store-bought pizza dough
  • 4 oz. Brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup raspberry preserves
  • 1 egg + 1 Tbsp. water (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 dark chocolate bar (shaved)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut
  • Raspberries (for garnish)

  1. Roll pizza dough to a 9×9 circle.
  2. Place dollops of Brie cheese along the outer edge.
  3. Fold the edge of crust over the Brie, pinching as you go.
  4. Spread raspberry preserves over the dough. This acts as the “pizza sauce.”
  5. Mix together 1 egg and 1 Tbsp. of water. Bruch the egg was on top of the pizza crust only and sprinkle with sea salt.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 15 – 20 minutes until the crust is golden.
  7. Remove from oven, shave the dark chocolate over the raspberry preserves. Top with shaved coconut and fresh raspberries.

By Heinen's Grocery Store
In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
